Kessler Shooter – Tom Guilmette – Boston

My name is Tom Guilmette and I am a Boston based sports television camera operator and DP. I have worked in the Boston professional sports market for over ten years.

During that time, I have covered nearly 1000 Red Sox baseball games, and countless other sporting events around Boston and throughout the United States.  I have been to the Super Bowl, Olympics and worked World Series events for clients like FOX, CBS and TURNER.

I have worked on almost every mobile 53 foot production truck in the United States and operated camera technology from Ikegami, Sony, Thompson, Grass Valley and many others. I have recently worked with the NBA using high speed digital cinema and love shooting with the Phantom. I have also worked with cameras from Fastec Imaging, Fletcher Chicago, NAC and Sony Super Motion to capture sports at very high frame rates.

My local clients include NESN, CSN and COX. These guys provide most of my bread and butter work in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island broadcast television markets. I own a ton of production gear including a Sony PDW-F800 XDCAM and I use this gear to shoot sports, promotions, documentaries, tv shows, and commercials for clients around the world.

I also use this gear to play around and experiment with my own content. I have published a lot of my work on my website, tomguilmette.com. My passion lies in the outdoors and I am an avid downhill mountain biker. In my earlier years I raced, but now I just rip the hills for fun with friends.

I am working on a mountain bike documentary film during my spare time that will showcase local riders in the New England area. I am always trying to progress television production in every aspect by bringing something different to the table. I toss in my own style and see what happens. I am not satisfied doing things the same way as everyone else, that boring! Thanks to gear from Kessler, I can try out stuff that was previously not possible and increase production value for any client.
