Kessler Shooter – Harry Rabin – Santa Barbara

Since 1995, Harry has led the design & quality assurance teams. He pioneered new automation in quality assurance effectively reducing the “time to market” for new products by over 200%.. He led the way in building strategic partnerships with Apple, AOL, Motorola, HP, Intel and IBM. Prior to founding Miramar Systems, Rabin launched EDI Computer Systems. With Rabin as President, EDI provided Novell with its largest contract for the Department of Defense Control Audit Agency. EDI was the principal architect for the DCAA nationwide network. Before becoming a technology entrepreneur, Mr. Rabin designed and manufactured medical related equipment for the EPA, computer terminals, digital multiplexors, line drivers and printer sharing devices while Rabin served as Senior Design Engineer for the University of California, Santa Barbara Physics, Institute of Environmental Stress and Computer Center. Again as a Senior Design Engineer and Manager at UCSB’s Computer Center he was tasked with the re-design and retrofit of the entire campus wide cable network. His work has played a role in contributing to the high-tech cottage industry that emerged outside of the University. Rabin holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Music and Drama from UCSB. Studied with the American Film Institute in Hollywood. Trained with Lee Strasberg.

FILM INDUSTRY

Filmed documentary for Public television “The Voyage of Hoku Le’a” . Provided Shark Week footage for Discovery Channel. On the Wave Productions is both acknowledged and authorized Discovery Channel Production Co. Additional work for Animal Planet/Discovery Network ongoing. Post Production and sound editing for “Made of Music” documentary on John Cruz winner at the Hawaiian International Film Festival and is available on DVD at JohnCruz.com. Currently working on feature film in 2009 ” Tear.” and Reality based “First Response” for the cable network.

Rabin’s extensive experience in the technology industry has given him expertise in engineering, product innovation, product strategy and charting future direction. As the founder of Miramar Systems, he conceived of and developed the company’s flagship product, PC MACLAN the first and most successful software to bridge the gap between PC’s and Macs. Customers like Skywalker Ranch, Lucas Films, AOL, Apple, IBM, Warner Bros, and virtually every major TV & Cable network and enterprise involved in the creative arts and entertainment field depended on PC MACLAN to get their music and film integrated and ready for final edit and delivery.

Cinematographer, photographer, videographer at On the WAVE. Recording engineer, musician, composer and producer for SeaMusic Studios since 1994As a tech and underwater cameraman, worked with producer, director, DP Alan Koslowski (POP).
Harry has produced several award winning documentaries for the diving industry such as Palau “1000 Islands.” and for network affiliates, web, international film festivals, tradeshows and many other venues. If it has to do with computers, cameras or high tech, Harry’s all over it. He’s worked with Jeff Bridges, Billy Baldwin, Jay Thomas, David Crosby, Kenny Loggins, Mike deGruy, Billy Idol, Jack Johnson, Tommy Shaw, Venice, Glen Phillips, Nir Kabaretti, David Crosby, Dave Mason, Heart, Jackson Brown and more.

COMMUNITY
Member of the Santa Barbara Film Commission, Has served as Chairman, President and Board member of the Santa Barbara Education Foundation and “Keep the Beat” organization from 2002-2010. Produced Michael McDonald Concert at the Granada Theater benefitting Music Education. Produced several videos for “Artists for the Arts Foundation. In total, Rabins efforts have helped to raise almost 5 million dollars for continued Arts and Music education in our public schools. Original founding member of SUPPORTMUSIC.COM an organization formed by NAMM that works along side of VH1 “Save the Music” and Grammy Awards National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to promote global awareness of the importance of Arts and Music in school.
